I'm going crazy..
I think I'm in love with IU
Ok that might be a bit of an exaggeration, maybe not so... :P
I first knew of her from the show Dream High, where she plays as Kim Pil Sook aka Ms Sushi, where she is depicted as having an amazing voice, but physically not what you could call, star material :(
The transformation (to her real self) of her losing weight was unbelievably surprising, such an exponential difference! I recall staring at the screen for so long and replaying that scene just to watch that moment~
After some research, IU ( Lee Ji-eun 이지은) only debuted on 24 September 2008 with her fist mini-album Lost and Found. Her first album wasn't commercially successful until her next album Growing up in April 2009 putting her into the mainstream market.

Born on 16th May 1993, making her only 18 years old! OMFG she debuted when she was only 15! It is quite unusual to debut at that age in Korea.
She's also really pretty (which is normally the case with Korean idols and singers) and cute at the same time.
My favourite songs by her are 미아 (Missing Child, Mia) and Good Day. I really like MIA because there's so much meaning in her voice when she sings. Being one of her early releases, the style, tempo, melody is quite different from her stuff after the first album, not too sure why, but I think it might be due to the album not being so popular and a success in the market, so leading to a different strategy to releasing more 'cute' songs. Not saying her other songs are bad, but kind of a shame as it is a truly great song.
In my opinion IU really differs from many of the other Korean artists out there, for debuting at such a young age where many thing it might be a bad idea, I reckon it really shows off her pure talent. She has an amazing voice no doubt about it. She has real talent to many artists/bands out there
So young yet so talented, I'm quite sure she will gain even more popularity in future :)
