Korean fever~

For a while now I've had this massive thing for Korean music, well most Asian music really. It pretty much began because of anime, Japanese anime, the good stuff compared with all the crappy Western cartoon shows that are like for little kids. This on the other hand is catered for kids and older, more mature audiences. The very first anime show I watched was Mobile suits Gundam Seed. I bought a dvd because I had seen the robots before and I had a small Gundam model that my auntie bought for me in China. I was pretty much hooked onto it straight away.

In all Japanese anime there are opening and closing songs and  also insert songs. These songs aren't made just for the anime series (Well not exactly true but you get what I mean) they are songs usually sung  by known artists in Japan or even worldwide. The songs were really catchy and thus I was into the whole Asian music. I had a massive craze for JPop (Japanese pop but I usually call all types and genres of Japanese music as JPop) from around 2007 and for about 2 years and a bit I loved listening to JPop. To me it was (and kinda still is) better than a lot of the stuff taht comes out of Western publishers.
A few favourite mentions are Yui, L`Arc~en~ciel, Bonnie Pink, See-Saw, Nobuo Uematsu (The famous composer of many Final Fantasy music scores) and Utada Hikaru.

Now that I see it I was just mildly obsessed with JPop, it was KPop that made me really obsessed. I can still remember my first experience of KPop it was when I was still using the teeny bopper version of Facebook known as Bebo (LOL) I watched a video on my friends page, it was the most epic music video I had ever seen! :O
Haru Haru (Day by Day) by Big Bang, is one of the best songs ever, it is one of those songs that you could keep listening and listening and never get tired off. Its upbeat and easy listening chords makes it a good listen and goes so well with the music video. The song must really be heard while watching the music video, being about two people (GDragon and TOP) fighting over this one girl. Even to this day I'm still a bit uncertain of what ACTUALLY occurs or how it began but how it is all set out it is just mind blowing. It is a sad story yet a beautiful one. It's truly a work of art

I started listening to some more of Big Bang's songs and most of them are amazingly good. Especially Last Farewell and Lies. Those songs are just amazing.
It was probably around mid 2009 that I started getting into some more KPop, like BOA and SUper Junior. Super Junior has some pretty cool songs like Sorry Sorry and Super Junior M, the Chinese version of Super Junior, they debuted with the hit song "Super Girl", it is such a catchy song! Me and some friends performed that song in China camp in Shanghai 2009, kinda fail as we only had the original MV to learn...All off my Ipod Classic back then XD

Another great song is 'Wedding Dress' by Taeyang, another member of Big Bang. It is such a touching song and music video. Taeyang is great friends with a guy and girl, especially the girl. He was going to propose to her but the other friend proposed first and the girl said yes. The video goes through the whole wedding process and Taeyang, lamenting that it should be him standing there by her side, her in her wedding dress. It really is a sad yet great  song that you could never get sick of, just like Haru Haru.
Wasn't long ago that I started having an interest in SNSD/Girls Generation, 2NE1, Brown Eyed Girls and especially SHINee another boy band (Girl bands and boy bands are quite popular in Korea).

SHINee is the youngest boy band out there in Korea, witht he youngest memeber Taemin being only 17 (maybe 18) this year :O THey have some great songs like their debut song 'Replay (Noona is so pretty)', other great songs 'Ring Ding Dong', 'Hello', 'Amigo' and from their latest album, 'Lucifer' one of the most techno-y and upbeat songs around and has the coolest dance moves ever, which atm I am currently learning :P Also 'Quasimodo' one of the best slow songs ever, like seriously it just sounds amazing. You must listen for yourself to believe, it really sends chills down my spine just listening to it. SHINee stands out because of the talented member's voice and their ability to sing and dance at the same time. They have the best choreography around which as I said really makes them shine from the crowd.

SHINee - 화살 Quasimodo

Below is Big Bang's Seungri's debut solo. With this song called 'What can I do? (어쩌라고)' All of the members of Big Bang GDragon TOP Taeyang (Oh I forgot ot mention he's part of Big Bang :P) and Seungri have released a solo album except Daesung but it will seem likely he will release one too.
